Use our diagnostic maturity assessment tool to evaluate ESG and sustainability capabilities and competency

Measure. Inform. Invest.

Rhizome strategy consultants have developed a tool to assess the maturity of a firm’s sustainability practices. The diagnostic tool evaluates the internal organisational capability across five sustainability dimensions and categorises an organisation by level of sustainability maturity and competency.

The Sustainability Maturity Assessment is a collaborative tool for senior leaders to use to help with future planning by visualising sustainability strengths, opportunities and development needs.

This diagnostic tool evaluates competency in sustainability for mainstream, profit-making companies that – depending on firm size, growth-stage and sector – recognise ESG as a risk and can evidence some uptake of ESG initiatives in corporate strategy. We evaluate competency and capability across our five defined pillars of sustainability maturity, seeking answers to the questions:

  • How embedded is sustainability in the business strategy?
  • How good is the operational delivery of the sustainability strategy?
  • Are leaders and staff strategically aligned and empowered to deliver?
  • How good is engagement with internal and external stakeholders?
  • What is the level of competency in ESG reporting and disclosures?

Firms receive a grading level of sustainability maturity from novice to mastery and a detailed and prioritised action plan for improvement.
